Support for people who carry a lot

Stress, Burnout & High Achievers

When you are the person everyone relies on, it is easy to run yourself empty. Therapy for stress and burnout helps you step off the treadmill, set boundaries that hold, and rebuild energy without giving up what matters to you.

This might be for you if...

  • Feeling drained even after a full night of sleep
  • A short fuse, cynicism, or dread about work that used to feel fine
  • Saying yes to everything and resenting it later
  • Trouble switching off; your brain keeps working long after you stop
  • A sense that rest feels unproductive or undeserved

How We Help

What working together looks like.

See the full picture

We look honestly at the demands, habits, and beliefs that keep you running on empty.

Boundaries that hold

Learn to set limits at work and at home without guilt, and to protect the time you need to recover.

Restore your baseline

Build small, sustainable rhythms of rest and recovery that fit a busy life, not an imaginary one.

Understanding It

What this can feel like.

Burnout rarely arrives all at once. It builds quietly, through months or years of being the reliable one: the person who delivers, who cares for everyone, who keeps going no matter what. By the time most people notice, they are already running on empty, and the things that used to work, like a weekend off or a vacation, no longer refill the tank.

Therapy for burnout looks past the to-do list. Often the real weight is not just the workload but the beliefs underneath it: that rest has to be earned, that saying no lets people down, that your worth comes from output. Until those get some attention, no calendar trick will fix the exhaustion.

Virtual therapy works well for busy professionals and caregivers because it removes one more demand. No commute, no parking, no waiting room. Just one hour, from wherever you are in Ontario, that belongs to you.

Approaches We Use

Methods with research behind them, explained plainly.

Values-based work

Get clear on what actually matters to you, so your time and energy start going there instead of everywhere.

Boundary skills

Concrete language and strategies for saying no, delegating, and protecting recovery time without damaging relationships.

Cognitive behavioural tools

Ways to catch and question the thought patterns that drive overwork, perfectionism, and guilt about resting.

Nervous system recovery

Simple practices that help a body stuck in go-mode actually downshift, so rest starts to feel like rest again.

Virtual Sessions

What online sessions look like.

Sessions run about 50 minutes over secure video. Most of our high-achieving clients book the same slot each week, often early morning, lunch hour, or after the kids are down. Online sessions mean therapy fits inside a demanding schedule instead of competing with it, and you can join from your office, your car, or your kitchen.

Common Questions

Questions people ask before starting.

Can therapy actually help with burnout?

Yes. Therapy helps you recover your energy, but more importantly it addresses the patterns that created the burnout, so you are not back in the same place six months from now.

How do I know if I am burned out or just tired?

Tired improves with rest. Burnout does not. If you wake up exhausted, feel cynical or numb about things you used to care about, and weekends no longer help, it is worth a conversation.

I do not have time for therapy. What then?

That feeling is usually part of the problem. Online sessions remove the commute, and one hour a week is often the thing that gives you back the other 167.

Will you tell me to quit my job?

No. Sometimes change is needed, but often the work is about how you carry the job, not whether you keep it. We figure that out together.

Is this covered by my workplace benefits?

Many Ontario extended health plans cover registered psychotherapy. Our fees and insurance page explains how to check your coverage and submit receipts.

Your First Session

No pressure. Just a conversation.

In your first session we talk about what your days actually look like, where the pressure comes from, and what you would want life to feel like instead. You will leave with at least one concrete step to try right away.

You take care of so much. This is a place where someone takes care of you.
